Erik E. Kolar

Mr. Kolar is a founding partner and President & Chief Executive Officer of Patriot Equities. He is instrumental in shaping the direction and vision of Patriot, managing acquisitions, development, and client relationships.
Prior to forming Patriot, Mr. Kolar was President and Principal of Preferred Real Estate Investments, a leading real estate firm focused on the acquisition, restoration, leasing and property management of existing commercial and industrial real estate. At Preferred, Mr. Kolar was primarily responsible for building the firm’s portfolio. During his tenure, he developed in excess of 12.5 million square feet of space, with project costs in excess of $1.0 billion.
Mr. Kolar also served as Senior Vice President at CB Commercial (now CBRE) in their suburban Philadelphia office, specializing in the sale and leasing of office, flex and R&D properties. While at CB Commercial, he sold over 50 properties, and sold or leased more than 6 million square feet of space, earning him a place in the Chairman’s Club four straight years from 1994-1997. He was distinguished as one of the youngest Senior Vice Presidents in the firm’s history.
Mr. Kolar received a B.S. Degree in Economics from the University of Delaware. During college, he was awarded a ROTC scholarship and commissioned as an officer in the United States Army. He retired at the rank of Captain after serving under the Special Operations Command and serving in the Persian Gulf War in 1991. Mr. Kolar resides in Chester County, PA with his wife and three children.
Alan S. Werther

Mr. Werther is a founding partner and Executive Vice President of Patriot Equities, L.P., responsible for overseeing the negotiation of all of the Company’s acquisitions, dispositions and leasing.
Prior to founding Patriot, Mr. Werther was Vice President and General Counsel for Preferred Real Estate Investments, Inc., a leading real estate firm focused on office and industrial real estate.
Before his tenure at Preferred, Mr. Werther served as an attorney with the Philadelphia-based law firms Cozen O’Connor and Wolf, Block, Schorr & Solis-Cohen, where he was involved in all aspects of real estate transactional practice.
Mr. Werther holds an undergraduate degree from Tulane University and received his law degree from Washington University in St. Louis. He lives in Plymouth Meeting with his wife and three children.
Michael C. Kolar
Partner & Director of Operations
Mr. Kolar is a founding partner, Executive Vice President and Director of Operations & Development for Patriot Equities. In this role, he oversees the asset development and operations from due diligence, development, and construction to asset operations including property management, leasing and strategic direction of each asset. He also is an executive member of the investment committee for the firm.
Prior to founding Patriot Equities, Mr. Kolar founded and was the President of Preferred Asset Management, LLC, the Asset Management division for Preferred Real Estate Investments. The division was responsible for the asset operation of over 10 million square feet of office properties and the business home of over 200 tenants. During his tenure, Mr. Kolar built and led a team of 60 employees through the start-up of the division and its ongoing success.
Before joining Preferred, Mr. Kolar spent 15 years with NASDAQ listed Dixie Group, a leading marketer and manufacturer of carpet and rugs to residential and commercial customers. He began his career in sales and finished his Dixie career in executive sales, marketing, and operations management for Dixie’s Bretlin Inc. subsidiary.
Mr. Kolar holds a B.A Degree with honors in Public Administration and Management from York College of Pennsylvania.
Partner & Chief Investment Officer
Mr. Gardner is a founding partner and Chief Investment Officer of Patriot Equities. He is responsible for the oversight of all aspects of new investments including origination, financial analysis, negotiation of terms, and capitalization. He has acquired assets with total project costs of nearly $1.0 billion. Mr. Gardner also serves on the firm’s Board of Directors as well as the firm’s Investment Committee that approves all new investments. Patriot has acquired assets from several large corporations, including Wells Fargo, Aramark, Broadcom, Continental Tire, Darden Restaurants and Macy’s.
Before founding Patriot, Mr. Gardner was the Director of Acquisitions for Preferred Real Estate Investments, Inc, a leading real estate firm focused on the acquisition, restoration, leasing and property management of existing commercial and industrial real estate. During his tenure with Preferred, he was responsible for the acquisition of 11 properties totaling over 6.0 million square feet with total project costs in excess of $300.0 million. These properties were acquired from several Fortune 500 companies including Texas Instruments, Ingersoll-Rand, Honeywell and Citizens Bank, a subsidiary of the Royal Bank of Scotland. Prior to Preferred Real Estate Investments, Mr. Gardner was an analyst with Credit Suisse First Boston based in New York.
Mr. Gardner received a B.S. Degree in Finance from the University of Delaware and was captain of the school’s football team. He is a member of the CFA Institute and has earned the right us use the CFA designation. Mr. Gardner resides in Ardmore, PA with his wife, two sons and daughter.
